

Born to the late Hattie (Forrest) and Mel Lamport, September 5th, 1941, in Port Alberni. Marilynn was so proud to say that she was born and raised in Port Alberni.
Marilynn was predeceased by her husband Barrie Forbes in 2017, and daughter-in-law Debi Forbes in 2023. She leaves to mourn her sons Brian (Diane), Bruce and Alan (Theresa) and beloved grandchildren Daley, Sydney, and Ian, as well as sister Nola Menzies (Dave), and Tom Christian, her partner later in life.
After graduating from ADSS in 1959 Marilynn received her nursing degree from St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver in 1962 and went on to work in the Port Alberni Hospital, Woodwards, then Fir Park Village, and Echo Village as Director of Care before retiring from Community Living.
She was co-author of Sproat Lake Reflections and was proud to keep the local history alive. A hostess like no other, The Lake House was often full of Flyboys, family, or international guests. She will be remembered as kind, generous and loving to all.
There will be a Celebration of Life on July 28th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Alberni Valley Branch 293, 4680 Victoria Quay. Handicap accessible ramp entry off the parking lot.
