Uncle Buck passed away at Eagle Park.
Buck was born in Parksville, at the current site of the Mini Golf, and spent his life deeply connected to the community he called home. Growing up in Parksville, he developed a strong appreciation for the outdoors. While school was never his main focus, the outdoors was where Buck truly learned and thrived.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Buck spent countless hours enjoying nature. He fished commercially for many years aboard his boat, the MARIE, and treasured many hunting trips up north. Buck was also dedicated to his community, generously giving his time as a youth soccer coach for many years.
After retiring from commercial fishing, Buck became a familiar and welcome presence at French Creek Seafoods, where he helped out in many areas and was proud to be part of the team. He had several favourite sport fishing spots and many friends he enjoyed visiting as he made his daily rounds.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of French Creek Seafoods for welcoming Buck and making him feel valued, and especially to the Mclean family for taking such good care of Uncle Buck. We are also deeply grateful to the staff at Eagle Park for their kindness and care during his final months.
Buck will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, and the many friendships he built throughout his life.
By request, there will be no service.
