With sadness, we said good bye to our beloved brother Neil Rive Holt, on Thursday May 9th, 2013 at West Coast General Hospital in Port Alberni, BC. He passed from a stroke, with family and friend by his side, just as the sun set behind the mountains.
Those who knew Neil, will always remember him as a kind man, who worked hard and played hard. He took great pride in his 30 year career in the BC forestry industry, especially when he worked as a hook tender.
Neil was an accomplished hockey player and enjoyed golfing, fishing and boating on Sproat Lake. He also loved to read books and play bridge.
Born and raised in Lachine, Quebec, Neil came out west in the late 60's and was a long time resident of Sproat Lake.
Neil was predeceased by his parents Ian and Shirley; he is survived by his brothers Ross, Martin and Guy, and sister Judy (Sid) and niece Devon.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Yates Funeral Chapel on Gertrude Street in Port Alberni, BC on Wednesday May 15, 2013 at 11:00 am followed by a light lunch reception.
In memory of Neil, please consider a donation to the West Coast General Hospital Foundation.
