Pauline Elizabeth Garton

Pauline Elizabeth Garton (nee Johnston) July 1, 1939 - June 6, 2024 Pauline (aged 84) passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024 at her home on Hornby Island, BC surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born July 1, 1939 in Landsdown ON to Stewart and Murial Johnston (both deceased). She was sister to Marilyn Courtice (deceased. Children Jeff, Doug, Jane & Brian), Robert Johnston (children Jennifer & Ted) and Judy Lawless (children Sarah, Ann & Brendan). Pauline married Jim Garton in 1961, celebrating 63 years of marriage before her passing. She and Jim had 3 children, Heather (Bellerive), Christopher (deceased) and Karen (Young). She leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Matthieu Bellerive, Brielle Bellerive, Jordan Bellrive, Kalena Young and Coltin Young. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Pauline grew up in Brockville Ontario and graduated from Brockville Collegiate Institute. She went on to become a registered nurse after graduating from Kingston General Hospital in 1961. She was always a compassionate & loving wife, mother and friend to so many. Her home was always welcoming to anyone who wanted to stop by, be it for a short visit or an extended stay. Pauline enjoyed traveling, watching her grandchildren play hockey, hosting dinner parties and taking daily walks with friends. She was always available to lend a hand, or an ear, and to be a soft place to fall whenever you needed her. Her loving presence will be deeply missed. A celebration of her life will be held in Vancouver in September
