Ragavelu Ramiah (Roy) Naidu was born on March 20, 1936 in Durban, South Africa. Roy was a brilliant, highly educated intellectual whom sought opportunity by moving his young family to Canada in 1969. The family initially settled in Falher, Alberta where Roy commenced his career as the high school math teacher in Donnelly, Alberta. Eventually Roy took on a position with the Alberta Distance Learning Centre as a senior math teacher, and moved the family to Barrhead, Alberta. Roy retired from his teaching profession in 2001; he and his wife Krishnie moved to Parksville, British Columbia in 2007 to enjoy the beach lifestyle and mild winter climate.
Roy loved to tinker and proved himself to be quite the handyman over the years including home renovations, plumbing, electrical, auto-mechanics, yard work and pretty much anything that required fixing. Roy also had a great passion for the game of golf and spent many of his retirement years on the Golf course.
Roy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Krishnie Naidu, their two children Linda (husband - Chris) and Colin, as well as their two grandchildren River and Raine.
