

Born Dec 14, 1927 in Sioux Lookout, Ontario Ruth passed away peacefully at her home in Echo Village February 28, 2018 at the tender age of 90.
Survived by daughters Evelyn & Fred McLaughlin, Holly Judge, Colleen & Charlie Rushant, son Hugh & Kim Love, daughter-in-law Serena & Kevin Clarke, grandchildren Tim & Nikole McLaughlin, Dave & Ashley McLaughlin, Heather & Brendan Mohan, Patrick & Christine Judge, Sean Judge, Joe & Kim Rushant, Chris & Rachel Rushant, Jordan & Raven Love, Ryan & Haley Love, Nick Love and Hannah Love, great grand kids Kelly & Dyllan, Terri, Michael, Kaitlyn, Aidan, Abigail, Andrew, Greg, Ella, Evan, Charlotte, Harper & Owen. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband George Love, son Dean Love, son-in-law Albert Judge, her parents, four sisters & two brothers.
Raised in northern Ontario, she moved to BC with her husband, daughter and other family, eventually making Port Alberni their permanent home in 1956. For many years she was active in the Legion Auxiliary and then spent her time as a member of the Eastern Star, with a passion for her work with the cancer dressing station. She loved her weekly card games of bridge and crib and spending time outdoors camping, fishing and gardening.
She will forever be remembered for her wicked sense of humor and her remarkable optimism.
Service of Remembrance will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 @ 11:30am at Alberni Valley United Church, Reverend Minnie Hornidge officiating. (3747 Church St, Port Alberni, BC) There will be a tea to follow in the church hall.
