Shirley Jean Merle Shanks

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother on September 15, 2023 at Oceanside Hospice/Pallative Care at Trillium Lodge in Parksville. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), her parents, two brothers, and her very dear friend Eva.

Mom died peacefully with her family by her side. She is survived by son David (Rondi), daughter Linda (Bryan), grandchildren Trishann (Jason), Nicole, Kyle (Laura) and Samuel, and greatgrandchildren Sophie, Kole and Kaia.

We would like to thank family and friends for all the love and support you showed Mom over the years.

We extend our extreme gratitude to Dr. Longman for his gentle care and empathy he showed Mom. You are a credit to your profession and we truly appreciate all you did.To Rick at Save-on Foods Pharmacy Port Alberni, thanks to you and your amazing staff.

Thank you to Parksville Island Health Home Care RN’s, OT & RT’s for home visits, care and understanding. Mom looked forward to your visits.

Oceanside Hospice at Trillium Lodge - thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your compassion and kindness made Mom’s final journey so comforting and peaceful.
