Shirley passed away peacefully with her loving husband of 67 years by her side. Shirley was a gentle and lovely partner and wife to her husband and friend to so many others she met during her long life.
Shirley enjoyed the certainty of numbers and was a highly respected bookkeeper for several businesses in Ontario and BC. Early in life Shirley, while traveling with husband Huey, also worked in accounting at a number of offices at NATO installations around the Mediterranean . The friendships made at that time have lasted many decades.
While living here in Parksville Shirley continued her interest in Bridge at the Legion in Qualicum playing with Willy and then Wilma until she had to give it up. She was also an avid watercolour artist, many of her delicate and whimsical pieces displayed throughout her house.
Shirley's husband wishes to thank the Home Care Workers from The Oceanside Health Clinic who helped Shirley during the last months and the Doctors and Nurses at NRGH who were Kind and Helpful to Shirley.
