Stella passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016. She was predeceased by her son, Bruce and husband, Howard. Left to miss her are her son, Jim; daughter, Brenda (Larry); grandson, Christopher; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family members.
Stella was born in Vancouver, BC. She was educated in England, Scotland, and Canada. As a young adult, Stella lived in West Vancouver enjoying all it had to offer, her cabin on Hollyburn, and sailing with her brother, Ken.
She was also a member of the Canadian Women's Army Corp 1941-1945, two and a half years of which were spent overseas in a Social Work capacity. Following the war, Stella continued her career as a Social Worker in the Okanagan, Nanaimo, and Parksville. Many years in Parksville brought involvement in various community activities, including St. Edmunds and the Legion.
We'll miss you Mom.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Stella’s honour at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 12th, 2016 at St Edmund Anglican Church, 407 Wembley Road in Parksville, BC. In lieu of flowers, her wish was for each of us to give a few minutes of our time to someone in need of it.
