

William (Bill) Cave March 16, 1934 – April 14, 2026
Bill Cave, affectionately known as “Mr. Cave” to some and “Mr. Music” to others, passed away at the age of 92 after a full and rewarding life.
Bill was predeceased by his first wife Ann of 52 years, his brother Bob, and his second wife Matti. Bill is survived by his children Laura Cave, Dan Cave (Shelly) and Richard Cave (Adele), by his three grandchildren, Allena Bergen (Chris), Graham Cave (Kristie) and Nick Cave, four great-grandchildren Julianna & Erik Bergen and Savannah and Riley Cave and also by Matti’s family.
Bill was born in Vancouver to parents who encouraged his gift and love of music. During the 1950’s he was a member of the renowned Kitsilano Boys Band.
Bill trained as a machinist and started his career at Burrard Dry Dock. He spent four years in the Navy as a machinist before moving to Parksville and working at the pulp mill in Port Alberni. In the late 1970’s Bill left his machinist career to follow his passion for music and became a school band teacher in Port Alberni and then Qualicum Beach. Bill was an accomplished musician, entertainer and amazing teacher who inspired many young musicians. Bill belonged to many community bands and after retirement he could be found entertaining at community events and senior’s care facilities.
A service to remember Bill will be held on Saturday, May 9th at 3:00pm at St. Stephen’s United Church in Qualicum Beach.
