William John Bernard ""Barney"" REGAN

Barney was a devoted husband to Margaret (d 2008); loving and proud father to Patrick (Linda), Mike (Marg, d. 2013), Maureen (Jim), Peggy (Ian), and Bernie; dear grandfather to Tara (Matt), Kelin, and Dana.

Barney was born in Victoria in 1926, married the love of his life Margaret (Thwaites) in 1951 and together they raised 5 children while living in Vancouver, BC.  In the 1970’s Barney’s career took him across Canada and while he and Margaret embraced each new experience, they were delighted when retirement brought them back to the west coast, and finally to Parksville, BC.

Barney was a man of strength, faith, endurance, patience, wisdom, and humour.  He was gentle and kind, generous with his time and the best listener.  He was curious and interested in so many things, and engaged in all life had to offer.

We honour him, and will miss him dearly.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 9th at 1:00 pm at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, 887 Wembley Road in Parksville, BC.
