Adan Rodriguez Garcia, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his wife, children and grandchildren.
Adan was born on June 17, 1938 in George West, Texas to Agapito “Chico” & Gabina Garcia, and was the third of their 8 children. After attending High School in Mathis, Texas he married and relocated to Phoenix, Arizona as a family man and father. He remained there for a few years before returning to Texas and settling in Corpus Christi. He worked for and retired from employment with Hygeia Dairy company, Reliable Life Insurance agency, and CCISD. He resided in Corpus Christi until 2013 when the family moved to Sugarland, Texas where he spent the last 13 years of life. Adan was a man of immense warmth and open-hearted kindness, truly never meeting a stranger, and usually always the first to lend a helping hand or support of some kind. To know him was to experience his genuine interest in people, his ready smile, and his ability to make anyone feel welcome and valued.
On July 21st, 1976 Adan married his loving wife, Joyce. For nearly 50 years their enduring marriage was built on a foundation of deep love, mutual respect, and shared devotion. He loved his wife fiercely, and together they built a beautiful life and legacy.
Of all his many roles, Adan absolutely cherished being a grandpa. His grandchildren were his absolute pride and joy, and he treasured every moment spent hearing about their lives, sharing stories, showering them with love, “exemplifying” nap time, and treating them to “ice cream socials”.
Above all, Adan was a faithful servant of Jehovah God. Along with his wife Joyce, they dedicated their lives and were baptized as Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 18th, 1976. His deep faith shaped the way he lived his life, treated others, and loved his family. He found great comfort and purpose in his faith, which lead him to hardly ever pass on an opportunity to speak to anyone about the promises from God’s word. Adan looked forward with confidence to the promises of the future, and knew his role was to share that knowledge and help others to learn of those promises as well, just as Jesus instructed his followers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Garcia, his children, Eva Carmel Garcia, Edmundo “Eddie” Garcia, Leonel “Leo” Garcia, Angelita Maria (Alfred) Rivera, Ricardo Adan (Marta) Bravo, Sonja Edythe Garcia, Joel Michael (LaWanda) Garcia; his grandchildren, Albert Garcia Guerrero, Melissa Renee Roschal, Erin Monique Garza, Tanya Sheree Acosta, Anatashia Criselda Garcia, Ashley Nicole Garcia, Aubrey Nakia Garcia, Emma Rose Garcia, Nathaniel James Garcia, Makayla Marie Garcia, Abigayle Lynn Garcia, Isabel Elise Garcia, Madelynne Celeste Martin, Caroline Joyce Rivera, Stefani Nicole Rivera, Anabela Mercedes Bravo Gomez, Dolores Inez Leblanc, Benjamin Michael Sangabriel, Zoe Rae Garcia Arredondo, Gabriel Onigkeit, Bennett Aucoin, Prosper Viviana Garcia; great-grandchildren, Alex Ethan, Haleigh Delayne, Cassidy Megan, Ashton Garrett, Avery Grayson, Marizza Renee, Spencer Gerard, Nikolas Andreas, Zachary Elias, Sunny, Christopher Aguilar, Journey LaBelle, David Anthony III, Adylen, Aribella, Amelia, Robert Aiden, Christopher, Alanissa, Azaria, Jiraiya, Davina, Maverick James, Adan Michael Davis; and four great-great-grandchildren.
