We regretfully announce the passing of Bennie Louis Konvicka on July 14, 2022 at the age of 92 in his hometown of Houston, Texas at Houston Hospice with his three children Gregory Mark Konvicka, Darla DeLane Konvicka, Phillip Wade Konvicka by his side.
Bennie's battle with a recent serious medical issue showed his courage in facing life challenges with his typical sense of humor. Despite the struggle, Bennie came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Bennie was born in Hungerford, Texas to Agnes Angeline Chamchul and John Konvicka and had a younger sister Bessie Konvicka Butler. He was a proud graduate of St. Thomas High School.
Bennie was a veteran of the Korean War, loved sports, and coached Baseball. Bennie will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend who was always available to help others. His biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and watching any kind of sports and he loved country and western music and movies.
Bennie married Winnie Myrteal Warren in 1956 and was a loving and dedicated father of three children: Gregory Konvicka, Darla Konvicka and Phillip Konvicka. Later in life he married Willo Dean Young creating an extended family who he loved very much.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter: Gregory Mark Konvicka of Houston, Texas Darla DeLane Konvicka of Arlington, Texas, Phillip Wade Konvicka and wife Michelle of Richmond, Texas, his three grandchildren: Josh Garrett and wife Amy and great-grandchildren: Connor Gregory Hughes Garrett and Natalie Rose Garrett of Austin, Texas, Phillip Wade Konvicka Jr., and wife Alycia and great-grandchild Wilhelmina Vi Konvicka of Richmond, Texas, and Brooke Nicole Konvicka of Richmond, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 26 years, Willo Dean Young, his precious grandson Taylor Benjamin Henson, daughter in law Shelly Ritter Konvicka, birth parent Agnes Angelina Chamchul, and sister Bessie Konvicka Butler.
Bennie will be honored at Pasadena Funeral Chapel in Pasadena, Texas Friday, July 22, 2022, at 12:00 PM noon. Visitation hours are from 10 AM – 12 PM. A graveside service will be held the following day on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 12:00 PM noon at McKnight Cemetery in Cushing, Texas. Pallbearers: Wade Konvicka, Josh Garrett, Scott Young, Lonnie McPearson, Jay Carr, and Jon Warren.
The family would like to thank everyone for all their thoughts and prayers for him while he was in the hospital. He knew he was loved by so many people. He never met a stranger.

If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am John 14:1-3.
