

Brenda was born to James Harold and Patsy Tipton on July 14, 1955, in Pasadena, Tx. She attended Pasadena High School, and went on to study Music at the University of Houston, graduating in 1974 with her Bachelor’s Degree.
After graduation, she began a career at Montgomery Ward, followed by a 30+ year career in home security. She received the top sales representative award for many years during her tenure, due to her hard work, commitment and successes.
As a woman of many talents, Brenda lived a fulfilling life. She had a passion for music and was a skilled singer and piano player, performing for several years with her local church. She enjoyed reading books in her free time. She was a kind and generous soul, very caring for all the people in her life. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her. She will be remembered for her love of animals, especially her many dogs, which to her were like children.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, James Harold Tipton, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Gene Collum; mother, Patsy Tipton; brother, James Tipton, Jr. and wife Michelle; daughter, Lesley Tapanila and wife Trina; nephew, James Tipton, III; beloved grandchildren, Lachlan and Parks Tapanila, and many grandnieces and grandnephew.
Brenda led a very busy and loving life.
She will be deeply missed and remembered by all her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Brenda will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, beginning at 2pm at South Avenue Baptist Church, 605 Preston Rd, Pasadena, Texas 77503.
Visitation with the family will be held following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an animal shelter/rescue of your choosing, in memory of Brenda Tipton.
