Charles (Chuck) Oliver Florrow

It is with great sadness that the family of Charles (Chuck) Florrow announces his passing after a brief battle with cancer. Chuck was born on December 7, 1937 to Oliver J. and Faye (Boyd) Florrow of Pasadena, Texas.

Chuck grew up in Pasadena where he attended Pasadena High School and attended First Assembly of God Church. Chuck left high school in the 11th grade to join the Air Force where he later got his GED. While stationed in New York at West Hampton Air Force Base he met the love of his life Arleen Perry while reminiscing on the beach. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Chuck returned to Texas for a short time before going back to New York to ask Arleen for her hand in marriage. Chuck and Arleen where married for 57 years with the majority of their time here in Texas.

Chuck worked for Port Terminal Railroad as a Yard Clerk / Yard Master for 28 years before retiring. Chuck was also a 32nd Degree Mason with the Park Place Masonic Lodge where men of God share their virtues of honesty, morality, integrity, and tolerance.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Arleen Florrow, children, Charlene Fassy and her husband Robert, Cheryl Fletcher and her husband Jack; Glen Florrow and his wife Stacy; grandchildren, Amanda Briggs and her husband Kennon, Danielle Whitaker and her husband Zack, Christy Deam and her husband John, Ryan Fletcher and his wife Brittany; Haley Jessup and her husband Devin and Cade Florrow. Great grandchildren, Carter and Addison Briggs, Deacon Whitaker, Kalynn, Jackson and Keegan Deam, Averly Jessup and Peyton Fletcher.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver J. and Faye Florrow, and his brother Kenneth Florrow. The celebration of life will be on Wednesday, June 13th at 3:00pm at Grandview Funeral Home in Pasadena. The family will be accepting visitors from 2:00 – 3:00 with the celebration following.

Dear Mrs. Florrow and family,

It is with great sadness that I send my condolences to you. I have always thought the world and all of you, Mr. and Mrs. Florrow, since we moved into the neighborhood together some 20 years ago. I am definitely going to miss talking to Mr. Florrow in the evening time while Misty is going potty and I'm getting the mail.

If you ever need anything, Mrs. Florrow, I'm always here for you.

I am truly sorry for your loss, and my prayers are with you and your family in your time of grief.

I was so sad to hear of your dad’s passing. He was like a second dad to me growing up.. so many funny memories at your house and mine.. he was such a kind, loving, caring man.

Arlene and family...... I am so sorry for the loss of Charles. He was a great friend to Mom and Dad since childhood....and it was so apparent how much he loved all of you. My sincerest condolences, thoughts and prayers to You and the entire Florrow family.

So sorry for your loss..Your Dad and I grew up in the same church and went to school together...He was a wonderful man..
May God give you comfort as you learn to live without him here on this earth..Take comfort in knowing he's with Jesus free from pain and suffering, and the assurance that you will see him again soon..
