Charles “Chuck” McNew, a beloved resident of Deer Park, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 20, 1943, in Pensacola, Florida, Chuck was the middle son of Charles and Ruth McNew. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Kenneth. He is survived by his
younger brother, Richard.
Chuck was a quiet man who never sought the spotlight, yet he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was a man of integrity, strength, gentleness, and kindness—truly the embodiment of a Southern gentleman and a proud Navy veteran. Chuck honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a dedicated member of the Masons.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Brenda; his children, Rebecca and her husband Tommy Kaminski, Roberta and her husband Joseph Pennington; his grandchildren, Savannah and her husband Beau, Preston and his wife Kelly, Holland, and Carson; his great-grandchild, Daphne; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A heartfelt tribute from his children reads:
“Dad, we will miss you terribly. You were our strength when life got rough, our calm in this crazy world, and our comfort when we needed it. You were someone we could always count on being there in our corner no matter what. Because of you, we are stronger, and we carry with us an immense love of family and faith.”
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, located at 2203 Pasadena Blvd. A graveside service will follow immediately at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway.
