A cousin’s bond is like no other, carved from the same bits of history and forged in love and friendship.  Lavon was my uncle Claude’s only daughter. A title proudly worn as only a Beaumont Place living,  only girl with four brothers, CE King band playing Texas girl could muster.  The Good Lord and family were front and center with no exception .  No doubt she is rejoicing in heaven with loved ones gone before.  Until we meet again.

Cousins are first friends and so many memories are written in my heart. Lavon carried all three of us sisters on her hip. We spent many hours visiting Uncle Claude's amd the family. I fell off my first horse when he went under the  clothesline behind their house. She marched in the Rose Bowl Parade and graduated. 

Lavon got a job and moved into an apartment. She recently told me the story about moving back home. I remember her yellow Maverick and how awesome I thought it was. She chuckled that Uncle Claude got her into a car note and she had to move home because she couldn't afford to pay rent. He was slick like that.

I caught her bridal bouquet and she began married life and had children and built a home with Bill. We had a great celebration in Cleveland when Wendell married Jackie. We visited with everyone and caught up on our lives. 

Our yearly O V Robbins Reunions were how we kept in touch through the years. About 10 years ago Lavon and I began sharing our lives through Messenger.  The past months have been so heartbreaking and I would send words of encouragement. The last time I talked to her on the phone I told her Mom and I loved her. She said wistfully, "I love Aunt Lana." These were our last words and I thank God she was able to call me. 

Miss you, sweet cousin. Can't wait to hug you close, when I get to heaven.

Our wonderful trip to Broken Bow Oklahoma. A memory I will never forget!!
