Dobie lived his life with deep and abiding faith and devotion to our Lord and served God with humility, joy, and an “on fire” purpose. For all that knew him, Dobie’s testimony of how God saved him and transformed him through Jesus Christ, is a great testament of God’s amazing grace, mercy and compassion in his life.
Dobie’s walk with Christ was evident in all that he did – in his words, his service, and his unwavering love for people. He shared God’s grace through his kindness, his compassion his welcoming smile and in his willingness to help anyone in need.
To his family and friends, Dobie poured out his love and tender care to all of us and was a steady source of strength and genuine sacrificial love. To his church family, he was a brother in Christ, always ready to serve, to fellowship, ready with a prayer and to offer words of encouragement. To all who met him, Dobie’s faith shone brightly – a true reflection of God’s goodness and mercy.
Dobie fulfilled his purpose in this life by loving the Lord and loving others with all his heart,
with all his mind, soul and strength. His legacy is one of faith, service, devotion and his life will continue to inspire those who knew him to walk closely with God.
Dobie is survived by his dear daughter, Nicole Renee McDevitt, his grandchildren, Nickolas, Catalina and Elijah, Nicole’s sisters, Diamond Cordoba and Michelle Chavez, his brother, Woody McDevitt, his niece, Brittany McDevitt, cousins, Amy Grant, John Shelton, and Belinda Shelton and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.
