Doreka Fuqua Swift

Ms. Doreka Fuqua Swift, 88, a longtime resident of Pasadena, TX passed away on Friday, May 23,2025. Doreka was born on January 30, 1937, to Kenneth and Matilda Fuqua in Stamford, Texas. Her family moved to Pasadena when she was young. She was a fighting Eagle, a graduate from Pasadena High School.

Doreka raised four beautiful children. Besides her children, Doreka loved her cats. She had a passion for bowling and was an avid bowler of the Pasadena Bowling League. She loved to cheer on her sports teams, Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, and College Football.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Matilda Fuqua, her daughter, Brenda Thompson, and her son David Swift.

She is survived by her son James "Randy" Swift, her daughter, Darla Swift Reesby, her brothers, Neal Fuqua and Charles Boyd Fuqua and Scotty, her sister-in-law, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A visitation for Doreka will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, 2203 PASADENA BLVD, PASADENA, TX 77502, followed by a funeral from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
