Hi Mom,

I've been thinking about you so much here lately.  I guess because it's that time of year that you had to leave us so suddenly.  It was such a shock but am glad you didn't have to suffer for long and got to go and be with Papa.  You even called out for him.  I believe that you and Papa are enjoying yourselves living in God's house now.

We all miss you very much.  There is such a void in our lives not having you here.  It will just never be the same without you.

Gary is planning on coming up next weekend and we will come and see you.

We now have Lisa living only four miles from us.  She's finally out of Dallas and closer to home.  We're very happy for her and her new cottage.  You would love it.
   
I miss you very much Mom.  I really miss seeing you in the mornings and having coffee with you and visiting.  I miss the silly stories we would tell each other.  I also miss when we would go out to eat.  I think that was our favorite thing to do.

I'm going to go for now.  We will see you again real soon.  Rick and Binky miss you very much.  We'll love you forever.

To the most wonderful lady ever known.. Don't know why it had taken so long for me to write to you, other than I really didn't know how to do it till recently. I can't even begin to explain to you how much I miss you. Seems like yesterday. I'm still having a very hard time at times. I have lots of people to talk to, especially mama and Megan. Megan says I worry her sometimes. I can't help it. I do cry alot... You are everywhere, Nanny. You are always in my thoughts. I'll write more soon. Glad you are with Papa. I miss him do much too. I'm sure you and Papa are having a wonderful Christmas in heaven with daddy and the rest of the family that are there with you.

We had our Christmas celebration this past Saturday.  There were 16 of us here including your two great, great grandsons, Eli and Derek Jr.  We all missed you and Papa so much.

We had a lot of good food but we sure missed seeing you in the kitchen too.  We bought two cheesecakes from a bakery in Deer Park but they didn't compare to the ones that you make.

We miss you more than you can imagine.  I look at your pictures everyday.  Rick even talks to you.  He really misses you too Mom.

Hi Mom...Happy Thanksgiving to you, Papa, and Daddy and the rest of our family.  What a feast y'all will be having in heaven.  I'm sure it must be very beautiful being in God's house.

Hi Mom.....We sure have been missing you so much here lately so I thought I needed to write to you.  I still can't believe you're gone.  Things are just not the same anymore without you here.

Jessica has the most beautiful baby boy named Eli Anthony.  He is precious.  They are both doing great.  Can't wait to hold him.

Megan will be having her baby very soon.  His name will be Derek Jr.  We're all excited for her.

Hi Mom .......Well I just couldn't let time go by and not be able to write to you anymore so I extended sponsorship for your guestbook online for another year.  It was like I couldn't close the book on you.  I just can't have the opportunity to talk to you.

We had a safe trip to Salado and back.  It was very nice.  It was good to see family that we didn't  even recognize.  Suzi looks just like Sue.  I'm really going to miss her.  Lisa and Lauren were there.  Leslie and Mollie couldn't make it.  Oh and Binky did real good on his road trip ...thanks to Benadryl (haha).

Jessica is very close to having her baby.  I wish you were here.  She's going to be the sweetest little mother.  Tomorrow is Megan's birthday.  She has a few weeks to go yet before she's due.  We're all very excited.

Hello Sweet Nanny,

On Mother's Day this year, we all gathered at Mom's rehab center for a little celebration. It was so nice to have your "Three Girls" together again. Little Bitty was able to come with Mollie and that was great. 

We then went to Sudie's to pig out on their awesome seafood. It was a really nice day. It wasn't perfect though, as you were not with us. We talked about you quite a bit. Everyone misses you terribly. Daddy bought Mom some beautiful white roses and placed them next to your picture on her dresser. They were gorgeous. I love you so much, Nanny. In spirit, I know you were there with us.

Hi Mom.....I've really been having a heavy heart  lately because you've been on my mind so much.  I really do miss you as we all do.  Binky sits in your chair a lot.  The other day we were in your area and I told Rick we needed to go and check on the girls (you and Ida).  This weekend we are going to say our goodbyes to "Auntie Sue". Hi Sweet Nanny,

Our family recently had a gathering at Mom and Dad's house for the July 4th weekend. We were able to celebrate Dad's birthday during that time too. Mollie and I laughed as we questioned each other while "trying" to make Dad a pineapple upside down cake. Mollie looked up a recipe online, as we both were not quite sure of all the ingredients needed. I know you would have known, Nanny, off the top of your head.

Uncle Mike and and Uncle Gary came up for the visit. It was great to see them again. They keep us laughing, that's for sure. Gina was able to come and she brought Serenity and her beautiful new baby, Piper. You would have had a blast with Serenity. She has the "gift of gab" and can talk to anyone. She reminds me a lot of Papa.

I was so happy and surprised to see Jessica and Little Bitty, as I didn't know they were coming. Jessica looked so adorable with her pregnant tummy. Her face lit up every time she spoke about Baby Eli. It won't be long now, as she is already at 38 weeks. It is so amazing to think about having 2 great grandchildren soon as editions to our family.

Your "Three Girls" were together again for this celebration. It was great to have both my sisters there. Of course, we talked about you and Papa. Everyone misses you guys and have MANY fond memories. We like to tell the funny stories that we remember about you and Papa. It seems to help to laugh now and then.

Sleeping in your bedroom just isn't the same without you there. I love how Mom has kept everything the same in your room. It makes me feel like you are still there with us.  I miss you terribly and love you so much.

Hi Nanny,

The holidays have come and gone and I cannot say that I am not glad. Nothing is the same without you and Papa. I have both of your pictures on my dresser and look at them every day. I feel comfort looking into your eyes and seeing your beautiful smile.

I have been really sick for a while now, but I'm sure you are aware of that. Mom and I talked and have agreed you were the "ROCK" of our family. You still are, so-to-speak, as I still wonder what you would think about decisions I have had to make in the last few months. 

I talk to you and Papa frequently when looking at your pictures. Of course, you do not respond, but I feel that you both are still with me and that is such an awesome feeling.

All of my memories, and there are SO, SO many, of you are fond ones...Well, except for the day I called you, "Sister"...lol I will never forget that. It's funny how things can be misconstrued because of generation gaps. 

I love you more than ever and am at peace with knowing that you are no longer in pain. It is wonderful to know that you are in a magnificent place with Papa, JC, Jake, and other members of our extended family.

You are so very beautiful in this picture. There will never be a person like you who loved so unconditionally and made us all feel special in your own way. I thank you for that. Oh, and Mom and Dad gave me your wedding ring for Christmas. I cried for the better of 2 hours before I could call Mom and thank her. 

I adore wearing the ring, as it represents both you and Papa. I always loved going through your jewelry box with you and listening to the stories that went along with each piece. I love you more than I can say. I miss you deeply.

Hi Mom,

Well we made it through the holidays without you which needless to say was very hard.  Today as you know is my birthday and it was hard too but I made it through the day okay.

We all miss and love you very much.  Binky has been sitting in your chair on your sweater.  He misses you too.  Rick misses you too especially in the mornings when he would bring you your first cup of coffee.

I hope you and Papa are enjoying each other.  We love you both very much and miss you too.

Hi Nanny...several months have gone by and my brain still cannot register that you are no longer with us. I am so thankful for the time I was able to spend with you in the hospital. One time you woke up from a cat nap and looked at me for a few minutes and said, "You're so beautiful"...I told you that I'm sure I looked like a wreck, but if I did look beautiful, then I got that from you. You smiled so big and winked at me. 

I miss you so much and think of you every day. My heart just doesn't beat quite the same without you here. I never told you this, but I think you are one of the most incredible people I have ever known. You showed love unconditionally and that is a wonderful trait.

Well Mom you've been gone almost a month and we still can't believe it.  We miss you very much.  We're doing ok I guess but it's been very hard and we are sooo lonesome without you.  I know you're happy to be with Papa again.  I know you weren't happy there at the end because you missed Papa and Blackie so much.  I think you would have been impressed with the memorial service.
