Gail Bergeron Young

She was born on September 27, 1943, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to late parents Shelly and Bernice Bergeron. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Emil Young, and brother Ronald Bergeron.

She will be remembered fondly by her daughters Patricia Young and Helen Bernice Farrington, son-in-law Harold Farrington, and granddaughters Caitlin, Hannah, and Jamie Farrington. Her brother Kenneth Bergeron, sister-in-law Linda Bergeron, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gail was a devoted wife, mother, teacher, and friend. She enjoyed teaching Pre-K at St. Augustine Catholic School for 34 years. She continued to meet monthly with her dear teacher friends for birthday celebrations. When her granddaughters were in school, she and Emil never missed an award ceremony, orchestra concert, sporting event, musical, or pageant. She loved cooking and hosting family for holidays. Her family was always her focus along with her strong Catholic faith. She was a fan of football games, soap operas, and Dancing with the Stars. She never left the house without lipstick or her jewelry.

Gail was very grateful to have so many wonderful family members and friends to share her love.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PBS, Texas Children's Hospital, or MD Anderson Hospital.

A visitation will be held at St Mary's Church, located at 816 Park Dr, La Porte, TX 77571, on October 20, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue starting at 11:00 am. The committal service will take place at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery, located at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505, at 12:30 pm.
