Gerardo C Castro

Gerardo Castro, of Crystal City, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family.

Gerardo was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose greatest joy in life came from the people he loved. He will be remembered for his warm heart, his love of music, and the many memories he created with family and friends.

Gerardo spent many years sharing his love of music as a DJ, bringing people together through the songs that meant so much to him and those around him. He also enjoyed playing cards and playing the drums. Above all, Gerardo cherished his family and the time spent making memories with them. His laughter, music, stories, and loving presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Gerardo is lovingly survived by his children, Annette Michelle Ponce (Jesus), Gerardo Castro Jr. (Tony), Nicolas Castro (Pamela), Jerry Castro, and Nichole Castro; his brothers, Francisco Castro and David Castro; his sister, Mary Jane Campbell; and his many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Castro and Angelina Fowler; his brother, Joe Castro; and his sisters, Enedelia Benavides and Guadalupe Castro.

Gerardo leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, music, and memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us, his love and the memories he created will remain forever.
