Henry "Louis" Loyd

On May 25, 1953, Louis married the love of his life, Jo Ann Coburn. From their marriage they had three children: Pamela Jean, Louis Keith and Belinda Ann. When asked what his greatest accomplishment was in life, Louis said providing for his family so JoAnn could raise their children.

Proudly serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class.

Louis was a 64 year member of Insulators Workers Local 22, Houston. He was a fine craftsman and a wonderful man on and off the job. Upon his retirement in 1993, he continued his love for Local 22 by becoming a member and President of the Retirees Club. He helped to raise thousands of dollars for the Scholarship Fund for members of Local 22 and their families continue their college education.

Louis is survived by his wife, JoAnn; children, Pam Shankle and husband, Gary; Keith Loyd and wife, Shellie; Belinda Rogillio and husband, Doug “Bubba”; grandchildren,Tracey Baker and husband, Lyndall; Aaron Shankle; Leah Childs and husband, Aaron; granddaughter, Allison Lanier and husband, Charlie; great grandchildren, Hailey Lanier, Kaley Baker and Lyndall “LT” Baker; nephews, Randy Lloyd, Russell and Gary Veazey; nieces, Mary McClain, JoLen Jeffus and Linda Bowles.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Jack Lloyd; sisters, Marguerite “Beet” Tipton, Lula Noel and Patsy “Pat” Loyd; nephews Harold Raymond Lloyd and Shane Jordan.

Louis was known by his gentle spirit and giving heart.
