Hermelinda Ybarra

Hermelinda Ybarra, 80, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025. She was born in Cuidad Mante, Tamaulipas, Mexico and made her home in Houston, Texas, where she lived most of her life surrounded by her family.

Hermelinda had a deep love for plants, flowers, music, and cooking — simple joys that brought warmth and beauty to everyone around her. Her kindness, strength, and loving spirit will be remembered always.

She is survived by her sisters Petra Padron, Teodora Padron, and Benita Padron; her children Alma Chavez (Gabriel), Sergio Ybarra (Michelle), Marisol Purcell, Cynthia Martinez, Patricia Mize-Hicks, Vanessa Martinez (Luis), and Ayda Mull (Adam); and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.

Hermelinda is preceded in death by her parents Procoro Padron and Reyna Rivera, her brother Fidencio Padron, her daughter Reyna Hernandez, and her beloved grandchildren Bianca Isabel Purcell and Alexander Patrick Mize.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Elina Flores for her loving care and support to Hermelinda throughout her final days.

Hermelinda’s love and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
