Joe Elliott Hoot Jr. passed away February 10, 2016. He was born in Houston, Texas. March 30, 1950. Raised in Pasadena Texas and attended Pasadena High School. He went to Sam Houston University and obtained a History degree and then a Masters at the University of Houston, Clear Lake. He worked for Dr. Pepper many years. During his early years, he enjoyed camping and hiking with the family at several National Parks. Miniature golf was a past hobby. He loved to talk about history and enjoyed his library trips reading books on history. His kind soul showed a deep compassion for animals. He is predeceased by his parents, Joe and Nina Hoot of Pasadena, Texas. He is survived by his sisters, Sandra Robertson and Patty Batcheler. Services will be Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Graveside service in Old Waverly Texas at Waverly Cemetery will begin at 2:00 p.m.
