

Johnny Juan Granado Gauna was 84 years old. He lived in Pasadena Texas and passed away on July 10, 2024. He was born on December 13, 1939. He was married to Benita Rodriguez Gauna for 58 years. Johnny was a very hard worker. He had many careers to support his family. He was a diesel mechanic, welder, and his most favorite was being a farmer. He loved driving the tractor. He was an extremely hard worker with a very strong work ethic that he instilled in his children. He had a passion for building things with his hands, dancing with his beloved wife and listening to music. He loved to joke around and had a great sense of humor.
He was a devoted Catholic. He had a big devotion to the Most Holy Eucharist and to our Beloved Blessed Mother Mary. He loved praying the rosary daily. For many years, he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, the Guadalupanas, the Crusillistas, and el Movimiento Familiar Cristiano.
Johnny is preceded in death by his wife Benita Gauna, his son-in-law Mario Calderon, both of his parents, and many brothers and sisters.
He is survived by one sister Jesusa “Suzy” and his children –his daughter Janie Calderon, his son Jesse Gauna and wife Lori Gauna, his son Gino Gauna and his wife Debbie Gauna, his daughter Alice Alaniz and her husband Albert Alaniz, his son Anthony Gauna Sr. and his wife Yadi Gauna, and his daughter Elizabeth Avendano and her husband Robert Avendano. He had 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was greatly loved and will be extremely missed.
A rosary service for Juan will be held Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, 2203 PASADENA BLVD, PASADENA, TX 77502. A celebration of life will occur Monday, July 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at San Juan Diego Catholic Church, 3301 Pasadena Blvd, Pasadena, TX 77503. A committal service will occur Monday, July 29, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.
