June Carolyn Emerson, of Pasadena, TX passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017. She was born in Mansfield, LA on February 5, 1936 to Joseph and Jemyma Smith. She was married to James E. “Rooster” Emerson for 43 years. June went to Abilene Christian College and taught Special Education for Pasadena Independent School District. She was a member of Watters Road Church of Christ and had a passion for her church, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James E. “Rooster” Emerson and parents, Joseph and Jemyma Smith. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Emerson and wife Denise, James Emerson and wife Sharon; grandson, Philip Emerson; step grandson, Barry E. Marshall; step great grandsons, Barry L. Marshall and Keyan Marshall; step great granddaughter, Brogan Marshall; step great great grandson, Barry W. Marshall; and sister, Joan Davis.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Watters Road Church of Christ, 3616 Watters Rd, Pasadena, TX 77504. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00pm with Craig Ryan as Solo Vocalist. Interment will be at Grand View Memorial Park.

Sister Emerson and I shared the same birthday. She was the sweetest person. Always had a loving smile on her face. I will miss seeing and hugging her at Watters Rd. Church of Christ.
