Deaune married the love of his life Mrs. Virginia “Jenny” Medley in 1959. They were married 64 years before her passing in 2023. They had 2 children James and Cindy.
Deaune had a life of hardship growing up. He left Kentucky at the age of 15, hitchhiked to Texas with just a few dollars in his pocket. He always had a passion of fixing cars as a young boy. In 1950 he built his first car from wood scraps. This set the trajectory for his life’s passion.
In 1966, he opened his first Automotive repair business. He later built Medley’s A&B on Shaver St. He also built storage stalls in South Houston before his real passion restoring classic cars. It began with a 56 T-Bird. Then several 58 Cadillacs, a 49 Cadillac and a 55 Chevy for his wife.
He and Jenny traveled all over for classic car shows where he won many trophies for these restorations. The 55 convertible Cadillac was even used in a commercial for Bum Phillips Sausage in May 2000. Duane surpassed his early struggles and became a successful businessman.
He is survived by son James Medley and wife Sheila, and daughter Cindy Jasek. Granddaughters Jennie Rodgers, Casey Jasek, Valerie Ramirez, and Amanda Medley. Grandsons Cory Jasek and wife Amanda, and Scott Stidman. Great-grandchildren Olivia, Fenyx, Nyx, Anastasia, and Colton. Sister-in-laws Sheilah Miller and husband Rudy, and Brenda Poe and husband Bill. Brother-in-law Larry Cox and wife Sonny.
