She was born on March 18, 1941, in Independence, Missouri a daughter of Joseph John Collins and Edith M. Cloverdyke Collins. She is lovingly survived by her husband of 57 beautiful years, Clarence “CB” Boyd. Mrs. Boyd was raised in Independence by her father and stepmother, Joseph and Bernita C. Baldwin Collins.
Also surviving are her two daughters, Sherri Youngblood, and her husband Dave of LaPorte, and Shellie Givens, and her husband Tommy of Beach City; three granddaughters, Lindsey, Lauren, Lacie Foster, and a brother, Bill Collins of St. Charles, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Donna Harber, Mary Ann Smitka, and Florence Clopton; five brothers, John Collins, Joe Collins, Eddie Collins, Mike Collins, and Larry Collins; and two stepbrothers, Charles Tompkins and Cary Tompkins.
Her greatest legacy was the love she gave to her family. There was nothing she loved more than being surrounded by the people that she loved the most. She had a way of making everyone feel loved, special, and at home. She never met a stranger. Her love was unconditional, her heart was generous, and her presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching her Houston teams. When not cheering for a Houston team she would cheer for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff at Heart to Heart hospice. The compassion and care they showed Margaret and our family during her final days will never be forgotten.
