

Mario Cortez was born on August 4, 1984 in Houston, Texas to Mr. Antonio P Cortez and Mrs. Esperanza T Cortez. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones and all who knew him. Mario is preceded in death by his father Antonio P Cortez, and survived by his mother Esperanza T Cortez (Hope) sister Monica Cortez brother-in-law Mike perez two brothers Angel Cortez, Albert Cortez, sister-in-law Jamie Cortez, and by his loving girlfriend San Juan Espinoza. He was adored by all his nieces, nephews great nephews cousins and family and friends. Mario was so loved and cared by so many people and he himself was a loving and caring person who love to help anyone in need. He love to be outdoors, barbecuing, or on his plancha cooking it up for his family. His hobbies included bowling, fishing by the water, camping and concerts or cook offs. His family was part of a cook off team, and he loved being a part of it. He was a big sports fan and loved the Houston Texans, Astros, and Rockets. Most of all he loved being at his happy place, If you know, you know, “it’s a win or lose thing.” When he would win, he had this never-ending smile from ear to ear, showing his beautiful dimples! Mario loved just a little bit of everything and spending most of his time with family. It was his heart and enjoyed himself to the fullest. His favorite food was enchiladas, rice, and beans. He loved him some home-cooked meals, and every time his mom or girlfriend would cook he would snap a picture and post it on his social media saying, “yummy to my tummy.” His favorite music was old-school rap and listened to a little bit of everything. Loved Christian music with Casting Crowns being his favorite group. Mario’s favorite prayer was, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” it was a Bible verse from Philippians 4:13 meaning that through Christ one can overcome any challenge or difficulty because of the strength he provides; essentially its signifies that our ability to achieve things comes from relying on Christ power not our own.Mario fought a tough battle due to his unexpected illness and will be missed dearly, not a day goes by since you left us, gaining your wings, that we don’t think of you. You are no longer in pain for God took his child. You are now resting in paradise with some of your loved ones, especially reuniting with your father up in heaven. We will always and forever care your memories in our hearts Mario will be deeply missed.
