Mary Anne Rao Scalise was born October 10, 1930 in Houston, Texas to William and Frances Rao. She passed away on January 23, 2019 at the age of 88. Mary Anne is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jasper Scalise; an infant son; her brother Frank Rao; and son-in-law, Charles (Pancho) Miller, who passed away 2 hours prior to her passing and who held her hand as she made her way home.

Mary Anne is survived by her daughter Frances Gill and husband Robert; daughter, Theresa Miller; son Bernard (BJ) Scalise and wife Diane; step daughter Patricia Smith and husband Charles; brother, John (JB) Rao; sisters-in-law, Teresa LaBita and Rosemary Rao. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Anne’s greatest joy was her family. She was married to the love of her life, Jasper, for 51 years. She had a passion for traveling, especially cruising, and visited many places throughout the world, her favorite place being Hawaii. She loved playing games, especially cards, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Throughout the years, Mary Anne was very active in her church, St. Pius V, in Pasadena, Texas. She was a member of the Pasadena St. Pius Sunshiners; Catholic Daughters; Pasadena Senior Friends; and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Pasadena Funeral Home. Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at St. Pius V Church in Pasadena with interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale. Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons.
