Mary Edith Turner
November 21, 1927 – September 8, 2019
Mary Edith Turner, 91, of Marietta, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma and granny who loved to garden, cook, sew, crochet and quilt. She was born in Mississippi, but moved to Texas as a new bride. She stayed busy taking care of everyone around her, from bringing them food, to baking them cakes, to sewing their clothes, to sewing their Barbies’ clothes. She also worked many years at Hancock Fabrics in Pasadena, Texas.
She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James A. Turner, her son Roger Turner, Sr, and 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Middleton and husband, Robert Duncan, and daughter-in-law Janie Joiner; 3 grandchildren, Misti Jones and husband Kelly, Brandi Gremillion and husband Robert, and Roger Turner, Jr, and 4 great-grandsons, Jordan Jones, Casey Gremillion, Sean Gremillion and Nash Turner and many nieces, nephews, great-neices and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 1pm at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, followed by funeral services at 2pm. Interment will be at 3:15 pm at Grand View Memorial Park.
