Norman Booth Swihart

Norman Booth Swihart, 87, of Baytown, Texas, passed away September 21, 2020. He was born in Buffalo, New York on March 25, 1933 to Homer Swihart and Mabel Booth Swihart. Norman was married to Jane Mutersbaugh Swihart for 49 years. Norman served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan near the end of The Korean War. He earned a Civil Engineering degree from LSU, first working for The Department of Transportation in Louisiana then moving to Texas where he eventually formed his own business in Environmental Remediation.

Norman was a skilled musician having taught himself to play four-string banjo at 15 years old and later, the harmonica. For many years he ran a ragtime band playing for many local restaurants and events. Later in life, he enjoyed playing for the elderly in nursing homes and retirement centers. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Mutersbaugh Swihart; daughter, Margaret Swihart Moore; and his parents, Homer and Mabel Swihart.

Norman leaves to cherish his memories: his sons: Marsh, Robert, Homer, Charles, Daniel; and daughters: Sarah, Amy and Elisabeth; grandchildren: Sean, Alice, Jacob, Margaret, Homer, Elisabeth, Catherine, Jennifer, Robert, Adreena, Jonathan, Anthony, Caroline, Isabelle, Charlie, Nicholas, Sarah Jean. Oliver, Louise, Daniela, Eric, David, Andrew, Santiago, Rebecca, Travis, Emily, Jane, Rachel, Jessica and Madison; 30 great-grandchildren; along with a host of beloved friends and associates.
