And she was survived by her husband of 42 years, Joe Gaona, Jr. Her children; Richard Gaona, Christy Warren, and Jennifer Sordia. Her grandchildren; Mackenzie Nichols, John, Lauren, and Joshua Sordia, Christian and Caleb Warren. Her great grandchildren; Leila Torres and Devante Saunders. Her sister, Paula Mason and her aunt, Helen Beller from Las Vegas. Pamela was known by many in the Galveston area, where she was born and raised for most of her life. But also in the Pasadena area, where she lived with her husband and kids. She was always a fun, loving free spirit who loved to dance and hang out with her sister and friends. When she married Joe, she became a loving and devoted wife and mother to her husband and children. She was very involved in her children’s lives, the sports they played, being a team mom and coach for their teams. She had coached the Teenie Boppers for many years at the Pasadena Girls Softball League. Pamela was also a Den Leader for Richard’s Boy Scout Troop and Brownies and Girl Scout Leader for Christy and Jennifer. Besides all of that, she was involved in their schooling as well, being on the PTA at their schools and the President for the PTA at Sparks Elementary and San Jacinto Intermediate. She had devoted her life to her family, and not just her husband and children, but to her mom, sister and nieces and nephew, but her outside family as well; Her PTA family, Softball family and Scout Families. She also has many brother-n-laws and sister-n-laws as well as nephews and nieces.
In honor of my Pamela, her family is asking, that instead of sending flowers for her funeral to donate to LupusTexas.org for Lupus research in her name.
