Richard Dean Fulks

Richard was born on October 6, 1937, in Mountain View, Arkansas, to the late John and Drusilla Helms Fulks. Throughout his life, Richard was known for his strong work ethic, determination, and unmistakable sense of humor.

Richard proudly served as a Navy hospital corpsman before beginning a 17-year career as a lab technician with PPG Industries. He later went on to found Res-Tex Fiberglass, a business he proudly built and operated alongside his beloved wife, Pamela, for 33 years.

Those who knew Richard knew that he had a dry, sarcastic, and downright wicked sense of humor. He could deliver a one-liner with a completely straight face, leaving everyone else wondering whether to laugh or be offended—usually laughing. Richard was stubborn as a mule, once he made up his mind, that was pretty much the end of the discussion. You could argue your point, present the facts, plead your case, and even bring in a witness or two, but Richard was going to do what Richard was going to do. That stubborn streak never wavered, right up until the very end.

Richard will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Pamela; his children, Cynthia Haba (Frank), Ramona Pipes (Russell), Drusilla Fulks-Haner, Solisa Mathews (Teddy), Helms Fulks, Royce Fulks, and Quenna Botkin (Landon); his grandchildren, Bradly Haba (Clarissa), Brett Haba, Austin Pipes (Tiffany), Alex Pipes, and Reese Botkin; and his great-grandchild, Elijah Pipes. He is also survived by his sisters, Pat Kocher and Wilma Jean Lawrence, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, James Fulks, David Fulks, Ellis Fulks, Thurlo Folks, Mildred Barham, Lavada Fulks, Evelyn Patrick, and Helen Billingsley; and his son, Richard Dean Fulks II.

Richard leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, determination, and a lifetime of memories that will remain with those who loved him. His family and friends will forever remember his sharp wit, stubborn spirit, and the unmistakable personality that made him uniquely Richard.
