On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, Richard Franklin “Pete” Pettersen passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas. Pete as he is known to everyone was born November 28, 1936, in Glendive, Montana to Frank Arnold and Edith Marie Pettersen and had five sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna Dinardi, and great-granddaughter Leanne Pettersen. He was survived by his loving wife of 30 years Brenda, two daughters, Renee and Lisa, and son, Craig. Pete also had three stepchildren, Nikole, Natasha and Darrell Wayne.
Pete is survived by many who loved him including his grandchildren and over a dozen great-grandchildren and by many very close and dear friends.
Pete served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 until he retired in 1975, where he continued working in the medical field after retirement for many years, and later in life drove an 18-wheeler, which allowed him to see much of the country he loved so much.
For many years, Pete and his wife drove to Montana to help his family harvest sugar beets. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved gardening and was always so proud of his tomatoes. Pete also had a passion for Houston Astros baseball.
Pete is now rejoicing with all those who passed before him in the Lord’s mansion and most likely grilling steaks and having a nice bourbon while toasting Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Pete will be missed by all that knew him.
