Robert Edward Eldridge, age 66 passed away peacefully with family by his side on April 4, 2019. Robert was born on October 8, 1952 in Houston, Texas. Robert was a selfless man who took pride in his career in safety management and education. Robert was a humanitarian who will be remembered for his calm and caring presence he expressed to everyone in any situation. Roberts love of children dubbed him as a “community dad”. Roberts hobbies included bowling (his number one passion), boating, fishing and hunting (although his love of animals made him a poor hunter). He and brothers and close friends also enjoyed barbequing and were very good at it, winning several trophies as the La Porte Backyard Cookers. Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Donald Eldridge and survived by his mother Ladelle Joseph-Eldridge, brothers William Eldridge and wife Janelle; John Eldridge and wife Barbara, Mark Eldridge and wife Natasha; his wife Robin Eldridge, daughter Elizabeth Eldridge-Davis and husband Mark Davis, son Ryan Eldridge and fiancée Crystal Acuna; step daughters Ashli Lord-Scott and husband Yusuf Scott, and Ami Lord-Atkins; and husband Renaldo Atkins; grandsons Jayden Lord and Nathaniel Atkins; granddaughters Mackenzie and Kennedy Davis; Aubrianna Atkins and Ryleigh Eldridge and several nieces and nephews. Robert was loved by so many people and will be missed dearly.
Visitation/gathering with family is to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Bayshore Baptist Church located at 11315 Spencer Highway, La Porte Texas. Service begins at 11:00 a.m.
