Robert Joseph Wasyl McAnaney, a longtime resident of Pasadena, Texas, passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 61.
Born on November 20, 1964, in Gardena, California, Robert was raised in Pasadena, Texas, where he built a life filled with family, friendships, hard work, and a love for the things that brought him joy.
Robert attended Sam Rayburn High School, where he played baseball and was part of a team that achieved the honor of competing for a state championship in 1985. His love for baseball continued long after his playing days. He enjoyed coaching and sharing his passion for the game with others through the City of Pasadena.
Following high school, Robert began a landscaping business, demonstrating his strong work ethic and determination. Throughout his career, he worked for the City of Pasadena for several years before entering the private business sector as an electrician helper. He eventually discovered his calling in automotive sales, working for Trumble Auto Sales for many years. Robert had a natural talent for working on cars, restoring classic automobiles, and enjoying the excitement of hot rods and drag racing.
Outside of work, Robert enjoyed golfing, fishing, landscaping, working on old cars, watching drag racing and boating. He especially loved spending time outdoors and making memories on fishing trips and drag racing trips. Whether he was on the golf course, working in the yard, or enjoying one of his many hobbies, Robert found happiness in doing the things he loved. He was a proud Texas sports fan who enjoyed supporting his home teams. He also enjoyed going all out for the holidays, specifically with dressing up for Halloween and decorating for Christmas.
Those who knew Robert will remember his larger-than-life personality and his ability to make people laugh. He had a silly, playful side and always seemed to find a way to bring humor into a situation. Making others laugh was simply part of who he was. Robert was never afraid to be himself, and his humor and unforgettable personality left an impression on the people around him.
One of the most meaningful chapters of Robert’s life began when he met the love of his life, Julie Ann McAnaney. Together, they built a family and shared many years of memories. Becoming a father on Father’s Day in 1997 with the birth of his daughter Justine Ann McAnaney or his “Junebug” and again with his son Crae Robert McAnaney 6 years later in 2003, was another defining part of Robert’s life, bringing him a special kind of love and a family that would remain an important part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. McAnaney; his mother, Mary Ann McAnaney; his brother, Scott McAnaney; and his sisters, Kelly Martin and Tracy McAnaney Mendez.
Although Robert’s life has come to an end, the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His humor, his love for cars and sports, his passion for the outdoors, and the moments he shared with family and friends will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
Robert will be remembered for the life he lived, the laughter he brought to others, and the memories that will continue to be cherished for years to come.
May he rest in peace, forever remembered and deeply missed.
