I was so blessed to have known Shirleene for most of my life since we were neighbors and fellow church members. She was such a special person! In 1988, I began a second career in education and was so excited to learn that I was going to be her student teacher. She taught me so much about compassion, patience, and what it really means to be a kindergarten teacher. We spent 25 years working together. It would have been more but I retired before she did! Shirleene made a difference in the lives of almost 1,000 children. Such a wonderful legacy and a wonderful life lived. Prayers of comfort for Carl, Jerry, and all of those who loved Shirleene and there were many!
