Sylvia Ray Perrault (Tyler) went Home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Sylvia was 87 years young and joins her beloved husband, Bill, her Mom, Virginia, her Son, Jimmy Ray, her Sister, Georgia, and her Brother, Dan. She served the community for more than 19 years in law enforcement, first as a Houston Police Officer and ultimately at the Harris County Sherrif’s Department. Sylvia’s prison ministry began with one female inmate in the County Jail in Houston, TX, progressing to the Hunstville Goree Prison, where she held a Bible Study each week for 2 years. After that, she, alongside her Bill, ministered more than 28 years in Texas Prisons and Jails, bringing the Word to primarily women inmates. Sylvia attended Grace Church in Houston, TX, and was an integral part of their JOY (Just Older Youth) class. She was known as the “Bible Lady” with the puppet ministry. Left behind to honor Sylvia and remember her love are her beloved cat, Tabby; her brother, Richard Lee; her two children: Myrtis Rimassa and Lloyd Tyler; three step-children: Denise Boyer, Peggy Nix and Bill Perrault, Jr.; seven grandchildren: Marco Rimassa, Katrina Barrilleaux, Carla Cook, Melissa Hyde, Virginia Zuckero, Sheralyn and Andrew (A.J.) Tyler; seven step-grandchildren: Nathan and David Nix, Dana Oebel and Michael Kelly, Jessica, Mckenzie and David Perrault; eleven great-grandchildren: Neo Barrilleaux, Daniella and Luca Rimassa, Violet and Jay Zuckero, Rowan and Morgan Hyde, Jeovanni, Noelani, Drayce and Mavi Tyler; four step-great-grandchildren: Ella, Sophie and Darby Kelly, Laney and Millie Oebel; Nieces Sylvia Dickinson, Valerie and Shelly Lee and Nephews Tommy Tyler, Bryan and Raymond Lee; Sylvia will be remembered as a devout Christian, shining light and The Message in everything she did.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pasadena Funeral Home, 2203 Pasadena Blvd, Pasadena, TX, 77502 on Thursday, January 3, 2019: family gathering/visitation 9am; Service 10am with Internment at the
Veteran’s Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038) at 1pm
