Mr. Hammons served his country with honor in the United State Air Force from March 20, 1975, to March 19, 1981. He also found strength and fellowship in faith and community, attending Grace Church.
Mr. Hammons was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Hammons and Margie LeGrand; his sisters, Thelma and Francis Hammons; his brothers, Robert and Randy Hammons; and his son, Bryan Waters. He is survived by his wife, Dolares (Dee) Hammons.
