Willo Dean Perry Young-Konvicka was born on February 23rd, 1934 in Sacul, TX. Her parents were James Alton and Mary Elizabeth Perry. Her grandparents were John Alexander Perry and Maggie Blackburn / Charles Henry Beard and Sarah Jane Fletcher. The family moved from the farm in early 1940’s to the North side of Houston and lived off North Main until they purchased their home in Pasadena, Tx. She was a 1951 graduate of Pasadena High School and attended Massey Business College in 1952. She worked in administration at the Phillips 66 refinery where she met her husband, Arthur George Young. They were married in 1954 and had four (4) children. Larry Scott, Brenda Diane, Becky Lynn, and Linda Susan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pasadena.
She was widowed at the age of 43 in 1977 but continued her focus on her family. She worked as an administrator for American Benefit Plan Administrators which managed health care and pension benefits for various worker’s unions. She continued with her work at the church and with the PWP organization (Parents without Partners) which she organized and maintained for several years. At PWP, she met her husband, Bennie Louis Konvicka and were married in 1995. They were married for 26 years.
Throughout her life, she maintained her relationships with co-workers, family, neighbors, and classmates and was in constant contact with them for all her remaining years. In November, at her 70th high school reunion, she was able to make an appearance and visit with her former classmates. Her focus in life was her family and maintaining the family relationship for everyone. She organized the holiday events, the family reunions all to ensure these relationships and traditions were carried on. She had 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her legacy was her family and the love she had for them which will continue because of her.
Serving as pallbearers are James Alton Young, John Alexander Young, Gordon Keith McPearson, Benjamin Lee Haas, James Eric Bradley, Charles Ryan Haas, Tucker J. Haas and Wade Konvicka.
