Alice Chambers-Mastagni was born on March 7, 1930, to Henry and Gladys Chambers in Basin, Wyoming. The family moved to California when Alice was 7 years old to join other family members in San Luis Obispo. The family then moved to Paso Robles when her father began working as a mechanic for E.C. Livingston. Alice attended Paso Robles Schools, graduating from Paso Robles High School in the Class of 1949. She was a proud lifelong Bearcat. Alice married Donald Mastagni in 1948. Donald and Alice had three children, Martin, Paula and Joseph. Alice and Don were married for 52 years at the time of his death in 2000. Alice worked for many years at Ennis Business Forms. The family then moved to King City from 1967 to 1979. During those years, Alice worked for Van Gas and Sprouse Ritz. Upon returning to Paso Robles, Alice worked at Beckman Instruments. Alice enjoyed crafts and spent countless hours crocheting, knitting and making other crafts for family, friends and the St. Rose of Lima Gift Boutique. She was always proud of the fact that her crafts helped to support many projects at St. Rose Parish. In addition to being an active parishioner, and a proud member of the Italian Catholic Federation, Alice volunteered many hours to the Salvation Army.
