She is survived by her four sons and their wives: Bill (Rosemarie), Dale (Betsy), Ray (Sue), and Gary (Mary Ann) Reichard. She also is survived by two sisters, Anna Desautel and Lois Jones.
Alta's husband, Donald Barton Reichard passed away in 1972 at the age of 52. She had two brothers and a sister predeceased her also. Alta's family was of the utmost importance to her. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Alta was born on July 22, 1919, in a log cabin that her father built near Newcastle, Wyo. Her husband Donald and she valued their family, their church, and their farming activities. She lived for decades on their Templeton property, Green Oaks Valley Ranch, before moving several times to live with or near her children in various locals.
While in Templeton she enjoyed driving her Mercedes Benz car, a gift from her husband before he went to be with the Lord. She was recognized in Mercedes Magazine for having driven that car over 370,000 miles. Driving was one of her favorite activities. One of her grandsons counted her driving from the Ranch to town eight times in just one day.
If there is a character trait that best describes Alta, it would be faithfulness. She was faithful to the Lord, her husband, her family, her church, and her ministry to Others.
Alta's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Grace Baptist Church, 535 Creston Rd., Paso Robles, Calif.
