
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Don Lee Mitchell, soon after their graduation from Torrance High School in 1957.
Don served as a Torrance fireman until his retirement in 1992. Together they raised two children, Doug and Shelly, and had many devoted years of attending Doug's basketball games and Shellys' horse shows. They enjoyed riding motorcycles, building a cabin and camping trips. They had a shared passion for raising and showing AOHA horses, parrots and Carolyn's favorite Australian Shepard dogs. Carolyn worked various bookkeeping jobs until they moved to Paso Roble sin 1992, to gain more ground for their shared hobbies. They participated in square dancing and traveling with their antique cars, as they were avid members of the Cuesta Crankers and Atascadero Early Ford V-8 Club.
Carolyn loved to collect antiques, enjoying swap meets and estate sales. She had several booths in and around Paso Robles, where she could decorate , collect and sell her treasures. For many years after her beloved husband's death, she traveled the world with friends and socialized with her great "Red Hot" girl friends.
Carolyn Jane Mitchell is survived by her children, Doug Mitchell (son) and Elaine Mitchell (daughter in law) of Torrance, CA., Her daughter Shelly Mitchell of Paso Robles, of who she spent her last years traveling to horse shows with being her biggest cheerleader. Carolyn Mitchell's pride and joy were here grandchildren: Daniel DesVoigne of Houston, TX., Louren Mitchell, and Drew Mitchell of Torrance, CA. She is also survived by a beloved sister-in-law, June Davidson of Orange, CA.
