Simply the toughest and smartest person I have had the pleasure of playing along side (in football, basketball, and baseball) in our days at Paso High. I remember the football game at Taft High School in 1964. Buddy Muir, our star running back, injured his knee on a questionable tackle. Coach sent in linebacker Don Parish to take his place. The Taft players were intent on taking out Don also. They piled on, hit Don after he was down, and did other dirty maneuvers. He came back to the huddle with tears in his eyes from the beating he was taking, but not a whimper of complaint. We went on to tie the game after feeding on Don's grit. And on Saturday morning, I greeted Don and and the other Parish guys as they hustled trash barrels at our house. The Parishes were all about family, loyalty, and duty. Don was not as outgoing as Cecil and John. But that did not make him any less powerful. We all fed off his inner strength. We need more Parishes!! Randy Walti

Uncle "Donny Boy" is what us cousins ~ his nieces and nephews ~ called him. My fondest memories are when our families lived together and attended church together and all the laughs and love shared. Me and my 2 younger sisters and my 5 cousins (his children); Maia, Don (formerly known as Shelly a.k.a Billy) and Shira (twins), Ramon, and Shakira would share fun times playing together. I remember Uncle Don being so tall and broad but he would share that non intimidating smile and quiet spirit that will forever be missed. My uncle has struggled and battled in life but his end journey was filled with Praise through Reunion; Renewal; Revival; Restoration; and finally Redemption in his life, family relationships, mind, body and Spirit!! And to that we say Amen! ~ Uncle Donny Boy we celebrate your reunion with your brother, (my father) John Parish, who passed 2 years and 2 days (May 7, 2016) before you; your brother Uncle Cecil Parish Jr, Papa and Gramma Cecil and Louise Parish..
These moments for us are bitter sweet but our faith in Jesus surpasses our own earthly understanding and I know my Uncle will Rest in Prayer; Rise in Power and Stand in Peace..along with all my other loved ones.
Love your niece ~ Shareen and Le' Andre' & Lil nieces and nephews ~ Zhane', Ziyann, Diami, De Andre' and Dre'den
