I have been avoiding this as if somehow, off i don’t write it, then it won’t be real.

I was so sad when I learned that Emilee was gone. She was such a special person. She babysat for me a few times and is the closest friend to a friend of mine who I care deeply for. I liked Emilee the moment I met her. She was so vibrant and genuine. My children loved her. She actually took the time to do things with them when she would watch them too. Like take them outside to play, to the park or give them baths. My son is very challenging but she always could handle him and the last time I saw her, she was doing just that. She cracked me up because she was trying to give him a bath and wash his hair and he was fighting her. Badly ! But she didn’t give up. I came in and she was upset almost yelling at him because it was dangerous what he was doing but still trying to get him to listen and cooperate. I came into the bathroom and she kept trying to get him to listen but he was still fighting her so I intervened, reprimanded him and finished washing his hair . She had walked away and came back during it. When I looked at her , I laughed so hard because she was literally dripping sweat, wiping her forehead off , stopped and just looked at me and said ,” Good Lord!” I laughed so hard that she had to laugh too! She was amazing !

I am completely heartbroken by this loss. I know she was close to her mom and had a big family. I will be praying for them all the time. My son was very sad when he found out - he heard me praying but he wanted to pray with me for you all. I am so sorry that she is gone. With all my heart I believe though that you will be with her again one day and that even now she can hear you. Please know that you are in our prayers. Thank you for blessing us with Emilee and the time that we had with her. She will always stand out!

Sincerely with all my love,
Darla (Julian, Jameson and Amari too)
