In Loving Memory of Eugene “Gene” Matthew Bray Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Warrior for God

Gene at the age of 84 entered the presence of the Lord he faithfully served on May 20th, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Gail; his daughters, Debbie and Sharon; and 5 grandchildren, Roman, Blake, Taylor, Jordan and Destiny; and 2 great grandchildren, Aiden and Josslyn “JoJo”.

Gene was born December 24, 1934 in Ottawa, IL to Charles and Linda Bray. After graduating High School, Gene went to the University of North Dakota and the University of Florida, obtaining a degree in Forestry. Gene and Gail met in 1954, and they were married on August 24, 1957. In the early 70’s, Gene was called to preach and after graduating from Hyles-Anderson College, he pastored and started several churches in Iowa. In 2004, he earned his doctorate in Theology and went into evangelism starting his “Hunting and Fishing for Men” ministry. During this time, he hosted 8 annual men’s shoot-out competitions, which included preaching and wild game fellowship.

Recently, Gene and Gail moved to California to spend his last days closer to his children. Having served God faithfully for many years, Gene was a true Warrior for God. He was always seeking what he could do for God as that was his purpose in life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Much love to you Mrs. Bray and family! I’ll never forget Mr. Bray jumping on top of the desk in his suit to teach us about joy as our eighth grade teacher. He had a lot of enthusiasm ❤️
