George was born in Chicago Illinois to George and Theresa Pistoresi on March 20, 1940. He is preceded in death by his parents George Pistoresi and Michael and Theresa Provenzano and twin sisters, Carol Zeller & Charlene Perkins.
In 1967 George found and married the love of his life, Shirley Klopack. George had a long and distinguished career working for Hortica Insurance Company. In 1986 the family moved to Salinas, CA where George continued his time with Hortica and proved to be an invaluable part of the company. In 1997 he opened his own Independent Insurance Agency, GSP Insurance Agency. Later George and his family settled in Paso Robles, CA making it their forever home. He was certainly loved and respected by his family, friends, clients and coworkers.
George’s sports team loyalties always stayed true to his Chicago roots. He was understandably thrilled when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. He loved to play golf, spending time at their lake house with his beautiful family, walking along the shore with his grandchildren and the occasional glass of red wine. He was quick to flash his handsome smile and always trying to play a joke on family or friends.
George is survived by his children, Michael Pistoresi & wife Cesca, of Visalia CA; Nicole and Ronald Long, of Northbridge, MA; his wife, Shirley of Paso Robles, CA; he was most proud of all of his grandchildren, Auston and Adam Akemon, Matthew Long, Anthony and Alessandra Pistoresi.
There will be a memorial service on Friday July 23rd at 2pm at Saint Rose’s Parish in Paso Robles. It will be followed by a luncheon in the church hall for all to come and share fond memories of George.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to Woods Humane Society – www.woodshumanesociety.org/donate/
