July 15, 1981 – September 14, 2026
Jaime Muniz, 45, passed away on September 14, 2026. He was born on July 15, 1981, in Sinaloa, Mexico, to Audelia and David Muniz. He grew up alongside his four siblings, Jose, Jesus, Maria, and Leticia.
Jaime was married to Nubia Muniz until her passing in 2022, and together they had four children: Esmeralda, Cristal, Ruby, and Luis. Family was woven throughout so many of the things Jaime loved most—from days out on the ranch and the lake to BBQs, bonfires.
Jaime was a hardworking man who spent 20 years as a Vineyard Manager at Ancient Peaks and Santa Margarita Ranch. He knew the land, farming, and growing incredibly well, but what he loved most was sharing his knowledge.
If Jaime knew how to do something and you didn't, best believe he would teach you. Whether it was livestock, mechanics, construction, or finding a solution nobody else would have thought of, Jaime knew how to do a little bit of everything. And if he didn't know, he would figure it out. He loved passing that knowledge along, and so much of what he knew lives on in the people he took the time to teach.
Jaime was the one you could depend on. Throughout his life, he helped countless people in so many ways.
He stepped in wherever he knew he could make a difference.
Helping someone wasn't a big production for Jaime—it was simply something he did.
He especially had a soft spot for kids, and kids loved him right back. At the ranch, Jaime was often the one loading the little ones into the Kawasaki Mule and taking them around to see the animals, the garden, or whatever else there was to explore. He enjoyed teaching them, showing them how things worked, and giving them the kind of experiences they would never forget.
The love extended far beyond his own children. Jaime was a proud godfather to many and a compadre to more people than his family could probably count. Over the years, those relationships became an extension of his family and were another reflection of just how many lives Jaime became a part of.
Jaime loved the outdoors and was happiest when he could be outside. He loved fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, lake days, bonfires, and simply being out in nature. He also loved animals, especially dogs, and being around animals was a natural part of the life he enjoyed so much. His 2 dogs Bruno and Luna will definitely be missing him.
Jaime's happiest times were spent outside surrounded by family. He especially loved barbecuing. BBQs were a regular part of life with his brothers—gathered around the grill, cooking, talking, laughing, and spending quality time together. He also enjoyed sitting down for a game of dominoes with his dad and brothers. Whether they were fishing at the ranch, gathered around the grill, playing dominoes, spending a day at the lake, or sitting around a fire, being surrounded by family was all that mattered.
Jaime was stubborn, fearless, hardworking, funny, charismatic, and famously without much of a filter, lighting up every room he walked into. He could make people laugh, sometimes with the most unexpected thing that could possibly come out of his mouth. He was also the kind of man who could get hurt and insist he was perfectly fine, no matter how much everyone around him told him otherwise. More often than not, you could find him with cowboy boots on his feet and a hat on his head, ready to work, BBQ, fish, teach somebody something, fix whatever needed fixing, or head outside.
Raised Catholic, Jaime believed in God, and his family now entrusts him to God's mercy as they say goodbye.
Jaime's life cannot be summed up simply by the years he lived or the work he did. He will be remembered for the things he taught, the people he helped, the problems he somehow always solved, the stories that will continue to make his family laugh, and the countless memories made around grills, campfires, lakes, and the ranch.
Most of all, he leaves behind pieces of himself in our memories, our hearts, in the moments shared, and in the love we had for him.
Those lessons, stories, relationships, and memories are pieces of Jaime that his family, friends, godchildren, and compadres will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
